I am interested in buying a an Android PC suite phone manager. After doing extensive research I was able to limit my choices down to 3 products. All seem to be the best as far as feature rich, compatibility and ease of use. These are Dr.Fone , TunesGO {I believe both products are available from Wondershare.com vendor}and lastly Apowersoft phone manager. I would like to know if the 2 products by wondershare
are the same and if not what is the difference between them? lastly which one would be the best PC suite phone manager to buy from all three. For backup, recovery purposes. Please if possible provide me with a comparison chart of these 3 product. I was unable to find anything on Google and I spent a lot of time doing so.
Thank you,
Basem

Hi Basem,

Can you explain the criteria you've used to whittle down to those three products? I don't use any of them myself, but I see that while it has other functions, the Dr.Phone toolkit appears to be primarily designed for recovery purposes when there is a problem with a phone.

TunesGo appears to be more focused on transferring data between PC and Phone while ApowerManager appears to be a general all-round management suite.

Check the links I've used to ensure I'm looking at the same pages that you are and if different, please provide links to the pages that you've been studying.

Need more info here before I can help. What exactly are you hoping to achieve with a software suite like these? If strictly for backup and recovery purposes, then there are many other solutions you can also try. Need more input from you here.

I am looking for a software that is very easy to use yet feature rich in order to fully backup everything on my phone{Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Note 4}. Preferably ads free and Free but if I have to pay I guess I will have to do that. The attached comparison chart depicts the features that I would like to have in whichever product that you will recommend. I hope that helps.

Thank you.

Hi Basem,

Thanks, that does help, but I can only go by what the products you've listed report on their respective sites. As I've personally not had any experience with any of these packages, I can't recommend one over another.

Ease of use is also subjective. What I may find easy to use you might consider being difficult or clunky, so I'd suggest downloading Trial versions of any you like the look of and testing them out for yourself to see if you find them easy to use.

I do have some experience with MobileTrans which is also a Wondershare product that I actually used that to transfer all data from my iPhone over to my Samsung S9+ which it did very well. That's the reason I selected this tool because it could also copy data from one phone (IOS or Android) to another phone.

I also use it to periodically backup my entire Samsung S9+ data over to the computer but have never had cause to do a restore, so how well it would do that I can't say.

Apart from having to enable USB Debugging Mode on my phone each time I use it and then disable it afterward, which can get tiresome, I find it pretty easy to use, but you'd need to try it and decide for yourself to see if you agree.

I'm not sure if you would also need to enable USB Debugging on the Galaxy Note 3 and 4. It's not hard to do, (just follow prompts given by the software suite) and I assume the same would need to be done with other suites to allow the copying of all data to overcome Android OS security limitations to allow the transfer of certain data. (SMS messages for example)

Note that I'm not saying MobileTrans is "better" than the suites you're looking at -- I'm just showing you what I use to backup and manage my own Android phone.

Here's some snaps of what the entire backup process looks like when done on my system;

MobileTrans App Homescreen

Selecting what to Backup
Backup Progress
Backup Complete
Backup Folder in File Explorer
MobileTrans backs up and restores the Contacts, Contact blacklist, Text Messages, Call logs, Calendar, Bookmarks, Voice Memos, Apps, Photos, Music, and Videos on a Samsung Android phone.

With regards to the packages you've listed, here's what I found after doing a bit of research.

The Tech Specs for TunesGo list your Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Note 4 phones as fully supported, so that's a tick for that suite.

The Dr.Phone Suite, on the other hand, appears to have some additional recovery functions in the event that your phone was damaged and needed to be recovered. Other than that, it seems to have the same functions to TunesGo from what I can tell. Just a different user interface.

The ApowerManager suite appears to have the same functions as the Wondershare products, albeit with a different user interface and a heavier focus on Cloud management. One thing I personally like about the look of this suite is the ability to be able to manipulate the data of your phone using your computer. (Watch the video on the page I've linked)

I rather like the look of the ApowerManager suite and have decided to try it out myself to see if it's good as it appears. I'll update this question again soon once I'm done. :)

I'm not sure if all the above will be helpful to you making a decision or not (let me know if you need anything clarified) but I figured as it's been a while since I've done a backup of my own phone, I may as well document the process I go through for you to see.

The best advice I can give you is to take advantage of the Trials of each package you like and then make up your own mind as to which one suits you best. Even if you find someone that is also using the same software you're interested in, you won't really know if it suits "you" in ease of use as well as it does them. Everyone's needs and preferences are bound to be different.

I'd be interested to hear which package you settle on and how you find it, so do update this question once you've settled on one.

Hope that's helpful.

Basem,

Further to my last, I decided to download the Trial of the ApowerManager Suite and from the limited amount of testing I can do with a Trial Account, have found it appears to work quite well. Very nice user interface.

Here's a few snapshots of some (not all) of my tests.

How much access you have is limited to the Free account created after installing. (See first pic above)

Access Type
ApowerManager Screen 1
SMS Messages
Installed Apps
Tools
Backup Type
Select Location
All functions I tested seemed to work as designed. I found the Free account access to be reasonably good.

If you try this package yourself, note that you will need to get an activation key during the account sign up process in an email. That's not made clear when the application is first run. Once you have an account, you just log in with your email and password the next time you use the software.

USB Debugging must also be turned on with this software, in much the same way as with the MobileTrans app I showed earlier. I suspect this will be true for all Android software suites of this type.

The Backup and Restore operations appear very easy as shown above. Obviously I didn't test the "Full Restore", but the Full Backup worked fine.

The one negative I see with this suite is that it appears to require an Internet connection to operate at full capacity, as it phones home to verify the license status. Not that big a deal I suppose but could prove troublesome if the verification server was down at a time when you needed to use it.

All in all, I like it. Seems to work quite well and easy to use once installed and the account has been created. I'll be keeping this for a while to play with some more and may even end up purchasing a license for it myself eventually. The jury is still out on that decision :)

Hope this helps.

Cheers, Andrew

Thank you so much Andrew. You gave a lot of information. Let me try to read everything a few times and then I should be able to decide on which product to go with. More than likely I probably would go with apowersoft phone manager VIP. It has more features!
i will let you know Andrew. Thank you again.
