email messages will not open when double-clicked in Outlook for O365
Outlook for Office 365: e-mail messages will not open when double-clicked(one client machine affected - i5 PC running Win7-64Pro).
When an email is double-clicked to open, it opens minimized to the task bar. It give no indication to the user that the mail message was opened; also, the message cannot be restored to the desktop for viewing - only maximized or minimized.
Note that when outlook is started in safe mode, email messages will open as expected when double-clicked. I am unable to resolve this issue. The user must run outlook in safe mode in order to be able to open messages and work with their mailbox.
The following steps taken so far:
verified latest windows and O365 updates installed
computer restarted
All add-ins disabled
rebuilt ost file
created a new profile
performed online repair
reinstalled O365
Our O365 partner seems to be out of ideas. So I'd greatly appreciate inputs, suggestions for further troubleshooting.

Thanks Sean. The PC was/is set to computer only. Clicking move has no effect. I can only utilize maximize or minimize. Weirdly, the messages will open and close normally when running outlook in safe mode. If you can think of anything else...i'm eager to find and resolve the issue.
Try this by opening regedit
under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software \Microsoft \Office\xx .0\Outlook \Office Explorer
Delete the value(s) for "Frame"
Also if there is one delete the "Namespaces" key.
This is the reg key that holds window size/position. Restart the computer and try outlook again.

Ok, found and deleted frame key values. No namespaces key. Rebooted.
Now it is possible to double-click to open an email - the messages will open maximized. However, still issues when i open more than one email: Though they each open maximized, i am unable to click and toggle between them.
When i switch from email 'a' to email 'b', email 'a' is minimized to the taskbar...and to re-select email 'a' for viewing i have to right-click and choose maximize. There is no other functionality - no resizing or moving option available. Nothing happens when clicking a maximized message hitting the restore/resize icon has no effect.
Getting closer, but still not functioning properly. What's next?

yes, the PC is a member of a domain. Considering that only this PC is experiencing issues...
Update: Success, thanks to you Sean. :) I've rebuilt the user profile and all is looking good.

The other thing you can do is hover over the message until it shows a the little preview. Click the preview and select "move", click an arrow key on the keyboard and then move the mouse until you see the window. Close that window and try to double click. Windows tries to open windows at this last screen position.
