Somehow Yahoo has weaseled it's way into becoming my default search engine. I want Google, NOT Yahoo. I'm using Chrome.

How do I fix this, and (if possible) prevent it in the future.

Thanks

Go to Settings (click the 3 vertical dots in the top right-hand corner and click Settings). In the Search box at the top type "Search". Halfway down the screen it will show "Search engine". Under "Search engine used in the address bar" select Google.

You can also select Duckduckgo, which is my preferred engine as, contrary to Google, it does not track you.

Not quite as simple as you stated it, but I found it & it works.

Thanks!
Thanks for the points.

And do try the Duck; as far as I'm concerned it's every bit as good as Google. Also, one reason why Opera is my preferred browser is that I can select search engines from the address line: precede the search with "g " and it sends it to Google. Similarly "y " for Yahoo, "w " for Wikipedia, etc.
