Slow Internet Connection on Physical Server
I was connecting my Centos server (physical) to a Comcast Internet router. The download speed of the internet connection when I tested was only 15 Mbs/s. When I connected a MAC laptop to the same port on the router, the speed was 90 Mbs/s. What on the router and the Centos server that may cause the speed to go down significantly?
Please give us details on what kind of connection is in use, what the ISP claims the speeds should be (both typical and maximum), and how the speed was tested. Without that information we can't offer much insight into where the issues might be, or if there are in fact issues.
I would, however, note this: If the server has an intrusive virus scanner, possibly a malware detector such as Malwarebytes, and maybe some other things sticking their nose into internet connections, then downloads are going to be restricted to how fast the software can scan the incoming packets.
