You need to install a third party app in your BlackBerry Keyone to backup your call logs to Google Drive before you can restore the same to a new device.

Google Backups enabled will only backup the following:-

  •    Contacts
  •    Google Calendar events and settings
  •    Wi-Fi networks and passwords
  •    Wallpapers
  •    Gmail settings
  •    Apps
  •    Display settings (brightness and sleep)
  •    Language and input settings
  •    Date and time
  •    Settings and data for apps not made by Google (varies by app)

The answer is NO from my experiment on Google Takeout.

Android OS will only keep the last 500 incoming, outgoing, or missed calls are being saved in your phone and a new backup of the latest 500 entries will be uploaded to your Google Drive and it will only keep the latest version of your backup. Therefore, whether you can restore the call log data from 5 months ago depending on how many calls you have made in the same period.

The above is only theory and I have verified it from an experiment in doing a Google Takeout to download my Android backup of my Google Drive.

To conclude, you need to do a periodic backup using a third-party app if your data is important and there are apps that make the backup automatically.

Please can you verify with Google themselves - perhaps for money they will make these available?

Please can you verify with Google themselves - perhaps for money they will make these available?

I am not employed by or affiliated with Google Inc. and Android OS is an open-source project and an Android phone is only a consumer device and Google Backup and Restore is only a free service. For a free service, why you think that Google will verify with me? Besides, if you still want to dig out the information on how to contact Google and get a reply, you need to close this question and ask a related question as this question has already been answered.

So, it is very unlikely that your expectations above can be fulfilled. If there is version control for the backup like what OneDrive can do, Google will publicize the feature in their website.

The answer is rather straightforward as mentioned in the link below.
