Exchange URL Reconfiguration

Hi expert,

I configured all exchange server internal and external url as hostname.company.com which wasnt same as the standard url recommended by microsoft.

I suspect this caused the dns confusion and thats why external user are not able to login into the owa externally.

If i were to change the URL to standardized with microsoft guideline example: mail.company.com, what is the impact? or thing that i need to take note with?

Internal URL would be server FQDN and external should be set as per your third party certificate SAN.

InternalUrl       : https://server.FQDN/owa/
ExternalUrl       : https://mail.domain.com/owa/

This is the default configuration.

How to is explained below article

hi everyone,

Based on all of your feedback, that's mean even if i did change the external URL in my EMC, it shouldn't have any huge impact does that correct?
Yes there will be no impact.
