Samsung LC49J890DKNXZA 49" and USB 3.1c questions

Have a client who wants to use - Samsung LC49J890DKNXZA 49" 3840x1080 Super Ultra-Wide Monitor with USB-C for Business as their monitor to replace (x3) 22" Displays.  One of which has burned out.  The computer is a newer Dell XPS Special Edition (2019) with i7-8th Gen and big video card.  The video card has mini-display ports, and this monitor uses USB 3.1c.  I have not worked with monitors connected only by USB 3.1c.  What can anyone tell me to look out for?  Will this only work with onboard graphics or the discrete video card?  Can he add additional mini-display port monitors?  The existing USB 3.1c hub would connect after the monitor, but will this be a problem with USB 3.0 devices, like backup HDD?

ASKER

The manual claims it will only display half the screen via HDMI or DP.  Like picture in picture or half & half.  Or am I misunderstanding things.

Having never worked with USB 3.1c to double wide displays, this was very helpful.

Thanks David!
