Hi,

One of the printers in our office network would get disconnected every now and then. It is my boss's printer, only used by him. It would be working fine and not working all of a sudden. I had to remove the printer and rejoin it into the network. I use wire connection.

Any ideas? thanks

Check the cabling, check the switch port, also make sure there isn't an IP address conflict.
Are you printing to it by IP address?  I find that the print drivers that try to find the printer tend to quit finding the printer after a while.

yes, I have checked them, they are okay. The printer would work for a few weeks and stopped working.  Thank you very much.

okay, it looks like every time when he tries to print PDF, it cannot be printed. (pdf does not have security)

thanks
Interesting that a PDF would be the issue.......

Are you suggesting that it prints without problems until you try to print a PDF?  If so, try printing the PDF from Edge as well as from Adobe Reader.

Once the problem occurs, will clearing the print queue and cycling printer power resolve it?

When the problem occurs, are you able to ping the printer by IP and access the management web page for it?

When you mention "rejoin the network", just what do you mean?

My boss is using his pc now..  lol

I will try your suggestion later. What happened before was when it happened, print jobs would be stuck in the queue. I could restart the job but would not print.

I had to remove (delete) the printer and "re-add" the printer. thanks
