FM - How to use PDF Manipulator FM Plugin to automatically insert FM data into PDF fillable file
Have downloaded PDF Manipulator and went through demo videos, but it doesn't show case of data being inserted from EXISTING Filemaker fields into the pdf. Or, do I create new fields with the name of the PDF fields and then enter the data? Trying to avoid double entry. Tried to get into FM Forums, but having a problem.

You may want to open your PDF with Acrobat Pro and look at the form fields. You should be able to click on the field and see the field Properties including the name is one has been assigned. You may need to edit the PDF or re-create it in Acrobat Pro.

Finally got the fields to show up by clicking on Prepare Form and saving as another file. However, when I did that, the text entry fields were placed rotated on the side and the default texts were turned into fillable fields also. The form is a complete mess now. I could recreate it, but it has some unique text and icons. I think it is a scan of a form and not the actual one. Maybe I could send it to you just for suggestions, not to work on?
I can take a look but it doesn't sound like it was properly created in the first place. Is this a form you use in house or something from another source that you're required to fill out?
ASKER
From another source, but we might have replicated it. I know I wasn't involved in its creation.
It might take a little longer to rebuild it but it would then work properly, you could name the fields whatever you want, and it would probably be much smaller, especially if it contains and embedded scan.

Yes, just sent you the files. Can't build it on my own due to unique text, etc.

I played around with it some more in Acrobat and it's a mess. If you don't want to buy the form you can leave the background scan but delete all the text block on the page and then recreate them.

Thanks, very helpful.
