Sharepoint Online intranet

I created an intranet to sharepoint (online) , which provide info and documents to the users.

I added the users as visitors (so they can't do any modification). I would like to change the permissions to the documents.
I need the users to be able to upload their documents. There is any way to be able to upload data to documents and the same time to be visitors to site so they will not be able to apply any modification?
How to do this ?

You can grant your users contribute permission. They will be able to upload documents and work with documents, but they won't be able to make any changes to the pages or the site.

Hope that help...

I tried to give them a contribution permission, they can add documents but the problem is that , they can also modify the site .

I don't want to allow to the users to make any modifications with the site

If they can modify the site, they have too many permissions, probably site /admin owner and not contribute. What kind of changes are they making?
