Cannot set up Amazon Echo Auto with iPhone and car
I have an Amazon Echo Auto. My car uses an aftermarket bluetooth adapter for the radio as it is a 2007 auto. I can pair the Echo auto with the iPhone (tried 7 plus and new 11 Pro plus - same issue) without difficulty, but the minute the iPhone pairs with the car bluetooth, the Amazon Echo Auto no longer sees the iPhone.
I went on youtube and on line - cant find any solutions.

car has no aux input I can plug into. Device advertised to work iwth bluetooth in car
You cannot pair with 2 devices simultaneously via Bluetooth .. if both are supposed to get the audio output and input from the iPhone.
In effect the Car Bluetooth system needs exclusive access to the iPhone or the Amazon Echo Auto needs it .. BOTH cannot be connected at the same time to the iPhone.

So how is this device supposed to work? You pair the phone with the amazon echo, but how does the audio get into the car? The box says you need a car with bluetooth connectivity.... (or you can plug the audio cable into the car radio if it has an input jack which I have never seen on a car radio....

I think you hit the nail on the head with this comment "Amazon Echo Auto is probably designed for newer in-built Bluetooth car audio systems which support multi-pairing (multiple active devices connected over bluetooth) and the aftermarket bluetooth adapter you have probably does not offer this functionality and therefore can only pair with your iPhone."
My aftermarket adapter is prob old - got it about 5 - 6 years ago at least. It also has buffering issues so when I listen to songs it sounds like a record skipping (are you old enough to know what I am referring to - I'm 60!).
My plan is to swap the adapter but I think now I need to research the new one first to make sure it supports multiple device pairing and maybe get an ext audio jack input at the same installation. Thank you so much!!!!
