MAC PDF Software

I have been happily using Nuance Power PDF for years on my Windows computers, but need to find a comparable PDF program for my MAC (it doesn't appear as though Nuance Power PDF works on a MAC).  Most of what I do is "print to PDF", rarely actually using the PDF editing tools.  What program is best for this?  I would like to avoid a large learning curve - so hopefully the functionality will be similar to Nuance.

Thanks,

Phil

OSX (Macs) provide built in Print To PDF as part of the OS.

You'll access this feature under the normal print dialog box.

Hi Phil,

There is, indeed, a Power PDF Standard for Mac:
https://www.kofax.com/Products/power-pdf/standard-for-mac

There's also a free trial for it:
https://www.kofax.com/Products/power-pdf/mac-free-trial

As far as I can tell, there is no Power PDF Advanced for Mac, but I'll reach out to my Nuance/Kofax contacts to find out for sure. As you probably know, Nuance sold its Document Imaging division to Kofax. Regards, Joe

Thank you, David.  As you can tell, I'm really a PC guy who needed to get some MACs for work.

David … No kidding?  Thanks … that saves me a bunch of hassle (you can tell I'm a PC guy).  And Joe, I'll check out the Kofax product for functionality beyond just printing.

Phil,
Yes, PowerPDF (even just Standard) has a lot of functionality beyond print-to-PDF, as you know from your Windows usage of it, although I've personally never used the Mac version...like you, I'm a PC guy. :) Regards, Joe

You're welcome!

Ah... I use to use Windows... 20ish years ago... wow, surely it wasn't that long ago...

Where I always seemed to struggle to get anything done with Windows, Macs seemed natural to me.

Likely because I've worked on Unix since the early 80s.

If you have any other "How to do Windows activities on Macs", be sure to open additional questions.

There are lots of smart EE folks who use Windows + Macs, who can help.
