Powershell and choclatey: compare local installed software with Choclatey and trigger (custom?) install/update
Hi,
I'd like to compare a list of software items on my pc with the ones in Choclatey (https://chocolatey.org/), so I can update to that version (uninstalling my version).
Also I'd like to see what install params they use so I could evaluate/maybe correct some params (f.e. home page of google etc).
Please advise.

Finding or uninstalling software is no problem. As long as I can query for a specific list of software, I m happy. Ideally I d like to have installscript because I might want to change stuff.

Have written my own script, also found the api. Answers here were not valuable for me at all. Maybe my question was not clear?
Anyhow, please close.

So, short of querying your registry for the installed software in the first place, it'll be hard to confirm which version you have. Also, if I remember rightly chocolatey use their own bespoke repository. You'd need to uninstall the software anyway and then deploy it via chocolatey in order to manage it from that.
can you be a bit more specific on which particular software you'd want to verify and then we can go from there on doing the rest.
Thanks
