hi,

We have an IBM iseries with AFP to PDF transform program. When ever we convert a spoolfile to pdf and go into the iseries navigator to check the shared PDF folder,
we are seeing a new folder being created for every spoolfile entry we convert and also a subfolder with the user name as the folder name.
(see sample attached)
is there a way that we can just have all files go to the shared PDF and stored by user?

What tool are you using to convert the spooled file to PDF?

When you use this tool, the programmer who set up the print job generally controls the path where the printed output goes using the OVRPRTF. command, though the output folder can also be set on the printer file itself (CRTPRTF / CHGPRTF).

You'll need to find the programs that generate these spooled files, and/or the printer file object itself (WRKF command) and modify them if you want to direct output to another location.

Here is an IBM Technote that explains how the target folder is specified using transformation services:

Hi

I think we have a little communication issue.
The problem is not from the application. We are moving the actual Spool File Entry to the PDF printer. This action generates a PDF version of the report in the shared PDF Folder in the Integrated File System. However for each Spool File Entry we move, a separate folder is created in the PDF folder.
Is there a way to control this?
