Screen flicker > Event Viewer > Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.
Hi Expert,
I am having a flicker issue on and off(not often) and sometimes when the pc sleep it's unable awake it, tried changing HDMI port, cable and Monitor still same.
In the event viewer, I found error: Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.
I did research it's due to my GPU overclocked which I didn't, need to be on Nvidia reference clocks.
I am using GeForce GTX 1080, below are the specifications https://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-1080/specifications
CUDA Cores
2560
Graphics Clock (MHz)
1607
Processor Clock (MHz)
1733
Graphics Performance
high-17362
Strangely no issue on gaming but it happens often in video and tubing, using Windows 10 pro.
I would like to check how can I check on my current GPU clock? Is it have to download 3rd party software? Also how can I adjust to Nvidia reference clocks?
Thanks!

>> sometimes when the pc sleep it's unable awake it << that points to other problems imo
in event viewer, can you find anything that relates to it?
if not, turn sleep off - for testing

In the event viewer, there is many different kinds of of error, all which I fail to understand or even google out.
Today first time getting BSOD, I have tried to unlock abit on my GPU and guess it getting worst. This happens upon a video on youtube, strangely when gaming no much issue, only once a while flicker, I notice it's more in video or music in Spotify.
Stress test a few times didn't found anything very strange, unable to understand that such power GPU giving all kinds of strange issues.
Thanks

Hi Nobus,
Thank for your kind support.
The only dmp file location I can find is under C:\Windows only, is it only when BSOD that will create dmp file every time pc encounter it?
I tried to attach that time but it does not seem to be able to select for the attachment so I zip it, I tried to unzip it's gone very strange.
Yesterday I tried to take out RAM and GPU and reseat it seem like hang gone and the flicker back.
Thank for your kind support.

i Always copy the dmp file over to my documents, so i know where to find it

I notice I am getting a lot of this Error "The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
{2593F8B9-4EAF-457C-B68A-5 0F6B8EA6B5 4}
and APPID" on the event viewer under system
Much stable after I reseat GPU and RAM, but getting the above often not sure what does that do.
Thanks!

I use MSI Afterburner but you pays your money and you takes your choice.
I would note, though, that if the card is having problems at the factory default speed then it probably has a hardware problem which is going to become worse as time goes on.
