Hi,

I have a HP EliteBook, which has a usb c port.

I have a HP monitor which also has a USB c port.

If I connect the laptop to the monitor to the laptop via USB c cable, I just get 'no signal'.

I purchased a HDMI to usbc adapter from Belkin, but this also just reports 'no signal'.

Any ideas anyone??!

The monitor has these INPUT connectors:

1 DVI-D; 1 HDMI 1.4; 1 DisplayPort™ 1.2 met HDCP-ondersteuning op DisplayPort™ en HDMI

The USB and USB-C connectors, are for USB function only! (USB data/power)

Not only do you have one problem, you have TWO. As the HP Elitebook's USB-C port, is ALSO ONLY USB function! A USB-C that supports display output, HAS TO STATE IT like this in their specs (ex. "DP 1.2 via USB-C"). Sadly, this is not in the spec.

So you've managed to make this incompatible on BOTH sides. While it's nice USB-C is to versatile, it does introduce these problems where you have to fully double check EVERYTHING to make sure it works.
For years, after USB2.0, everything was pretty straightforward. USB memory stick, 100% no problem! Now with display capability and 3,3.0,3.1, 3.1 Gen1, 3.1 Gen2,
3.2, 3.2 Gen 1×1, 3.2 Gen 1×2, 3.2 Gen 2×1, 3.2 Gen 1×2,naming confusion, it can get pretty frustrating to find stuff out.
