See following, sharepoint 2010 to newest would require multiple steps.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/enterprise/upgrade-from-sharepoint-2010
Virtualization will reduce and help.
Your existing hardware might not be supported by newer ones (potentially lack of drivers).

Arnold, I am looking to upgrade only from windows server 2008 R2 to latest one which is supported to SharePoint server 2010 enterprise not to be upgrade SharePoint server 2010 to higher version
You seem to not answer the question on whether you have SBS2011 and whether you are going with new HW or trying to get windows 2008 upgraded to windows 2012, 2016, etc. in place.
I personally think that trying to do an in-place upgrade of the OS is a risk I would encourage people to avoid.
IT is one thing to do an in-place upgrade to a workstation from 7 to 10 as an example. An upgrade on a server which is in production is a completely different matter in scope and impact.
A workstation that fails an in-place upgrade, affects a limited scope while a production server fails an in-place upgrade impacts the entire business process which it serves.
You would need to upgrade share point as its support ends next year.
Better to look and deal with that in one shot, versus going through a pair of updates/upgrade/deployment to run into the grinder some months later.
is your current environment virtualized?
Have you considered migrating to the MS office 365 and getting that ..

Thanks for your advice.Could you please tell what are the issues we might be faced while doing only windows server upgrade for same SharePoint Server 2010 Enterprise.
You've not answered whether you are planing a new server setup with a newer OS on which you will install sharepoint as described in links Krzysztof provided
Or you are considering an in place upgrade of Windows 2008 to 2012.
From my 2010 is being phased out oct 2020, that is what you will run into, further the upgrade path is 2010 => 2013 => 2016
The longer you drag it out, the more complex your future plans will be.
OS/sql/sharepoint upgrade to newer deferring future updates by year's versus months ...

Yes, We will update SQL server also from 2008 R2 to 2012 and all should be compatibility ( SharePoint, windows server 2012 and SQL server 2012) and we would like to stay with SharePoint server 2010 enterprise only not required office 365. so could you please help me that what types of issues we might be faced for SharePoint environment and also tell me that is there any possibility without impact on SharePoint server?
thanks
thanks
IN that scenario, look through the links Krzysztof kindly provided
SQL login credentials transferred/copied, MS has a link for SQL login transfers if needed, can provide the link.
Virtualized or physical environment?

Sbs2011?
IMHO. Would suggest getting newer (used equipment to save funds) and virtualize
Then you can roll out and go through each component.
This type will provide you option to try, test, confirm and then finalize the process without impacting current operations.
