Command "show mac address"

Hi PC is plugged into switch 2900. sometimes we cannot see the PC mac address when using command --show mac address. Do you think it is possible if the port and PC are in good status? Thank you

I agree. but if the port has port-security configuration, the pc mac address still exist even if the pc is turned off.
Only if the switchport has been set with sticky  mac-address
switchport port-security mac-address sticky
otherwise you need to tell it the mac address(es).
( you also need to tell how many mac addresses are allowed there).
Actually, even if the port is configured with sticky MAC, the MAC will not show up in the CAM unless the device is active on the network.  Sticky MACs are stored in a completely different table and they have nothing to do with the CAM.
