Access Forms - Disable text box without grey

Murray Brown
Murray Brown used Ask the Experts™
In Access if I set Enabled to False on a TextBox it turns it to grey. Is there a way to make it look
better? I want the user to be able to read the text clearly on either a more enhanced text colour or less
enhanced background colour

I agree with Daniel, I set Enabled = True and Locked = True.

Sometimes I'll set the background color of those controls that cannot be edited to a faint red.
I also generally set the TabStop = No for those controls and will use the GotFocus event to shift the focus to the next control, so if the user actually clicks into one of those textboxes, it focus automatically shifts to the next control.
