they"re not exactly what i asked for, but if nobody gets a closer model, i'll accept this
..and you were correct : i did not know the correct search terms
Nobus, in what way are MASQ's results not exactly what you were looking for?  Do you require the clip to be un-insulated or otherwise exposed?  Or do you require the triangular aperture to fit over the probe?  Something else?

speed at which one do i look ?
Maybe this one: https://www.newark.com/mueller-electric/bu-60/alligator-clip-w-barrel-7-9mm/dp/28F500
but it will depend on the diameter of the probe you're sliding it on to. Newark have an awful lot of similar but different croc clips , and even ones for specific probes (like fluke ones)

that's a "normal" crocodile clip

So you want a clip that is not insulated?

........................it seems you look for a 4 inch clip. The largest I can find at the moment is 2 1/4 inches.

I see non insulated at 1.970" (50.04mm) on one site and here is a non insulated 2 inch.

I'm finding that the jaw opening maximum is affecting the overall length. As the jaw opening max goes to around 7.9 mm anything larger than that is getting me the type clamps that would be used on a battery test cable.

Here is a 15 mm jaw opening which is close to double but it does not state the length.

I had one larger than 2 inches long but under 2.5 inches. I can't seem to find it now. Still that does not match the one you show which is close to 4 inches.

nick - you've got it wrong - measurements are in cm not inches
i'm looking for MINI crocodiles - not insulated ones
These are 44 mm = 4.4 cm. Non insulated.

4 cm is roughly 1.5 inches. I'll try to find some that small.

they are 35 mm long
Not sure why the lenght would be that important. When you know the diameter of the test probe, you could check the conrad or farnell online catalogue. There are hundreds of crocodile clamps out there.

i gave it for helping nick - it's not hat important, but the width is (i can clip it in an usb or other connector on a motherboard
