Can't manage distribution group from Outlook with Exchange Server mailbox

I am the owner of a Distribution Group in my exchange environment. Whenever I try to modify a member using Outlook it gives me the following error. Please see attached screenshot.

I have tried to use this article but it doesnt seem to help.

I was able to successfully complete the steps in Step 1 but getting Errors in Step 2.

Can i get any assistance with this please. We have an older Server 2k8R2 and Exchange 2010.

I upgraded Powershell to the latest version on that box.

When attempting to use Groups to Manage the DL I was able to successfully complete Mode 1 - Set Ownership of a Group. But when i get to Mode 2 (Modify the ManagedBy attribute for one Group) I get the following error : WARNING: Didn't Find any valid objects in Owning Group.

As a start, you may want to try deleting any error messages from the resolve Problems & Solutions section from the farm page?

How about this? Do you know how to enable the MyDistributionGroups setting on the Default Role Assignment Policy?

Unfortunately I do not. I see you are doing this from the exchange admin center in o365. We have a hybrid environment at our location, so I assume I would need to do this from the EMC?

Yes, try doing this on EMC.

I looked but not sure how to do this in the EMC. I uploaded a picture of the same page you were on in the admin exchange center.

In that case, please refer to the link below provided by the official Microsoft Support Team. There are resolutions available for all possible causes. At this point, I can't identify the exact problem but at least one of the resolutions provided should be able to fix this problem.
