Yes you can download and install on the iPad. Just download from the AppStore. Once downloaded, just install it and it will also ask for you O365 login credentials which will assign the license to that device. Up to 5 devices can be used with your O365 license.

iPad is an iOS-based line of tablet computers built around the device's multi-touch screen, including a virtual keyboard. The iPad includes built-in Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity on select models.
