Mouse in contact with task bar causes background screen to replace item being worked on
On a windows 10 Pro computer, the mouse has suddenly started to cause the background screen to be displayed. The mouse is on a slanted keyboard rest. It has worked well this way for years, but now as soon as the pointer gets close to the taskbar, the background screen covers the work program [excel or sage or word].
The mouse and keyboard are Logitech wireless. Have use a different mouse with a different radio, with the same results. Updated the drivers and the same thing is happening. Is there any relationship between the pointer coming in contact with or moving towards the task bar [any part of the task bar] and the background screen being displayed

I have seen similar behavior as the desktop was for some reason set to be in Tablet mode. Can you check it?
so it does "show desktop" when you go anywhere near the taskbar rather than just hover over the show desktop icon?
I would suspect the user profile is corrupt, you can verify that by logging in as someone else.
