Dear Experts

I am preparing to install W10+Office 19 on my computers, so currently trying to set up all in virtual environment, just not to be surprised when I start to do it real life.

I have a problem when setting up Outlook 2019 with my Exchange server (on premise) 2016. I can setup my acount, it connects to my mailbox on Exchange server and start to synchronize with server.

Few seconds later there is pop up of MICROSOFT SIGN IN dialog box with my email preselected, but obviously I cannot sign in with this email to MS :-)

When I click cancel there is exclamation mark with outlook and NEED PASSWORD in status bar.

see pictures please.

Can you advice?

Many thanks

Vladimir

It looks as though you're trying to sign in to Office 365 I.E exchange online.

When you initially configured your profile, did you direct it at your on-premise exchange server?

Thanks

Dear Alex

yes, indeed I believe I did everything OK, and in fact I believe I found basis of my problem.

when I try to connect to my Exchange server with test email which I have just created no problem at all.

My problem seems to be in fact that my email vladimir.buzalka@xyz.cz is also email for whic microsoft account exists.

So it seems that outlook is somehow still checking first whether such account does not exist with Microsoft and if yes, it asks to be signed in.

Any idea?

Thanks

You should try setting the following equivalent reg key for Outlook 2019 to see if it connects succesfully - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\office\16.0\outlook\autodiscover
DWORD: ExcludeExplicitO365Endpoint
Value = 1

Excluding the o365 endpoints from outlook would be the fix, you'll need to roll that out using something like group policy preferences.

Hi,

I believe it uses 16.0 for Office 2019.  What do you see under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0?

Hi Vladimir,
Sorry, i'm not too sure why you cant see the appropriate registry keys. You could try installing the full  Office evaluation version or get a trial of the Office 365 proplus version.  This will allow you to test out the Autodiscover registry key.

Thanks,
Richard
