I get an error 2102: Detection error on SSD (HDD), on a ThinkPad P51s. The drive is a Samsung V-NAND SSD 860 PRO SATA 512 GB. The drive is new, so the likelihood of it being at fault is low.
It started happening about 1 month after having installed the H/D. It is happening mostly after the laptop is being transported.
To get it working you have to shut down the laptop, and sometimes pressing Esc does the job too.
Any other ideas?

it means that the drive is not being initialized in the bios timeout value (you can't change this).  It is either a hardware error in the system or the ssd is slow to initialize. Replace the drive under warranty (backup/restore) if this doesn't solve the problem then replace the laptop motherboard.

test it on another PC to be sure where the fault lies - it can be a disk controller = mobo problem too
was there an SSD installed before?
