ADOBE PDF Reader

I have the latest Adobe PDF reader installed on a window 10 64 bit machine.  I am forced to still use IE  11 for many reasons  What's happening when I try to open a PDF It tries to open but I get the following error: The is a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader.  If it is running, please exit and try again (0:521). I have a few users with this issue and other than refreshing the page I can't think of anything that would fix this issue.  It's enabled in the add on in IE.  We tried uninstalling and reinstalling and that doesn't work either.

You are welcome.
Take care, Nox
What if you are NOT also using Adobe Acrobat?  Same issue w/o Acrobat.  We have the latest Adobe PDF reader installed on our Windows 10 64-bit laptops.  Due to our medical software, we are forced to use IE-11.  When a patient consent form is requested (a PDF from server database), often times the system hangs and then pops this same error.  Even though default browser is IE-11, it seems MS Edge is fighting over control of PDFs with Adobe Reader.  I wanted to uninstall MS Edge, but alas.....  I'm hoping for a silver bullet here, thanks for taking a look when you get a chance noxcho.
