Extend Web Applications to Mobile Apps

I build web applications that have .Net front-ends and MS SQL back-ends.  I would like to give my clients mobile versions through an App for IOS or Android.
I started learning Xamarin and it feels like a heavy lift.  Can anyone recommend some other strategies?
Are there Apps that I can piggy back on to give my clients access to their data?  I think Microsoft has something that can be used internally at a company but I was looking for something available to the public.

Hi Richard,

Yes. I think you are talking about PowerApps. It is highly recommended for internal users. Unfortunately, its B2C features are just not there yet.

I have recently faced such an situation, I looked at Google Flutter(https://flutter.dev/) as it solved our Rapid App Development concern.

Hi,

I'm using React Native.
This is fast to learn especialy if you already know Javascript, a little learning curve to setup at the beginning.
You will be able to get access to all Native features of the device and with one code will cover both Android and IOS device
so you save time and don't need to learn 2 different languages

I recommend this book https://www.fullstackreact.com/react-native/
On udemy and plurialsight there are some good course too

Hi All,

I really appreciate the suggestions.

I found out the PowerApps Portal was planned for release to External Users as of Oct 2019.  I have not confirmed that yet.  It might be helpful.
I've heard of React and will now do a little research on that tool.

I'm happy to hear more suggestions,

Richard
Hi Richard,

PowerApps Portals are all set and ready to go. https://powerapps.microsoft.com/en-us/portals/ But that is not a Power App it is still a web site. If your users are internal only then PowerApps can be a good idea.

Also, if you would like to see a RAD solution for mobile, I think Flutter is in a good place.

Regards,
Chinmay.
