Cannot ping network computer

One domain, same subnet. We have a computer that the IP address is 192.168.0.90. I can ping the ip address but not the computer name.
I discovered that other software that needs to communicate with the computer is seeing the ip as 192.168.0.51 which does not even assigned to any computer.
How can I correct this?
Thank you
Wayne

You can remove the name from DNS and then add the correct one back.
Be sure no other system with the same name exists and uses DHCP or so.
