asked on message YOU are already viewing the file when I cant find file on my computer
message says already viewing excel file but cant find it anywhere. I am reading a file from the server. I tried to view the code on the sheet and suddenly the file disappeared. The file is not minimized or on my desktop. when I go to the server and try to open the file in read only I get a message that states You are aleady viewing the file. I cant find it on my desktop

SInce the file is on the server, could someone else have it open? Were you logged onto another computer and opened this file, if so maybe you forgot to close the file before logging onto this computer.
Open a blank workbook and go to the View Tab in the ribbon and follow the instruction shown in the following image.
