Proper downloads for SQL Server 2019 when purchased per core.

When a client purchases SQL 2019 by Core which version of SQL 2019 should I install?
SQL Standard Edition - Per Core
SQL Standard Edition - Server/CAL

I installed it per core but then when I try to install SSRS and use the product ID it tells me that it is not a valid product ID. Plus when I download off the MS VLSC there appears to be only generic downloads. When I click on Key it says no keys are required for this product.  I have entered the client's license key and authorization number but no where else do I see anything else specific to this client.

I am not sure whether I need to install the core version at all. We simply want to have enough CALs for our 50 employees so we are legal. Should I uninstall the core version and install SQL Server 2019 Standard?

I just discovered a bug in the installation process. If you click on the link 'Looking for Reporting Services' when installing SQL Server 2019 it incorrectly takes you to the 2017 SSRS download page. This is why my PID did not work. Also, when I examined the download for Core vs Server/CAL the download file is the same. So there is no need to uninstall. Why does Microsoft go out of their way to always make things more difficult than they have to be???

In my personal opinion, SQL Server installer files increases for each and every version..
hence they have stripped out client tools like SSMS, SSDT, Books Online and other components one by one to make the SQL Server Installer within the media size limit of 4.7 GB(DVD)..
That's how now SSRS landed as a separate installer..

Since you have the SQL Server 2019 license available, the installer from the link I've shared above should work fine for you..

Thanks. I tried twice clicking on the link and both times it took me to the 2017 SSRS download.
