Hi there! :)

Try disabling the services and restart the machine before trying again. On another note, it might be working, it's just that the loading bar isn't being updated real time or is lagging. Do give it some time, it's normal for it to take a while.

The SBS server expects to be the DHCP server...why would you want to remove that role?   What steps did you take to try to remove that role?    What is going to perform DHCP now?
Hi Noah and Cris!

Thanks for your quick response. Actually Noah, you were onto the answer when you said to give it some time. I let it run overnight and it did finally complete.

In response to your question Cris, I am migrating the SBS 2008 server to 2016 Essentials. Removing DHCP is the first step in transferring the settings to the new server. As you are aware, MS is ending support on the SBS 2008 server in January.

Thanks again to both!

Again, thanks to both. Sometimes, we are used to things going quickly that we lose patience when they don't!
