If you want to view what they user is seeing  then remote assistance has been built into windows for some time.  Quick assist is also free and included in windows 10. Both work well, though I prefer Quick Assist when possible since the process is very streamlined.

In our network, we did user support via remote assistance for many years. Now, I have switched over to RDP shadowing, see my article for my reasons and for a how to: https://www.experts-exchange.com/articles/33768/Using-RDP-shadowing-for-convenient-user-support-and-remote-control.html - this works even in networks without internet access (quick assist for example needs a linked Microsoft account and internet)
