Hi there, I want to prevent remote desktop stop users seeing or being able to access control panel on an old 2008.

So far I have created an OU and GPO with "Prohibit access to Control Panel" enabled under User Configuration/Administrative Templates/Control Panel.

I have added user directly for testing but the policy doesn't seem to apply.

What am I doing wrong?

Also, apply this for the terminal server.
Computer Configuration ->Administrative Templates->System->Group Policy->enable the User Group Policy Loopback Policy option

Hi Noah, thanks for your response.

Unfortunately it was of no help, all this does is turn the Control Panel off for the Administrator but remote desktop users still can access the Control Panel.

In the end I fell back on my old favourite - Eli the Computer guy and had a quick refresher on OU's and GPO's and it turns out I was not placing linking my GPO to the correct OU which the users were are a part of... DOOH!!!
