Cant share sharepoint folder with external supplier

I am trying to share a folder in sharepoint online with an external company who also has Office 365/sharepoint online.

This is the guide I am using - https://redmondmag.com/articles/2018/12/12/enable-guest-access-for-office-365.aspx

the invited guest doesnt seem to be able to accept the invitation.

I have created a guest user in Azure AD and added them to a group which has access to a certain folder in a sharepoint document library.

After the guest user is created successfully I can see thenew guest user in the Office 365 admin centre/guest users section.

The guest then receives the invite via email. They click on the link in the email and then they are prompted to log into the Office 365 account that I sent the invite to.

They enter the correct details and then they get an error :

"Oops, an error occured. You do not have access to this organisation. You must be invited into this organisation to get access."

I have tried deleting the guest account in our Office 365 teneant and starting again. I have also tried it in IE, Edge and Chrome and tried openkng the link in a private browser session to see if that helps but no it doesnt.

Any suggestions?

External allowed SP/OneDrive? "Require user to logon" not/is set?
I've seen this happen when another organization has O365 too.  The authentication is getting confused between tenants.

Ask them to paste the link into an anonymous browser session.

Failing that, share with a non O365 email address such as Gmail.
