Hi,

Microsoft WVD is a cloud only solution in Azure so you wouldn't be able to integrate with your on-premises 7.15 deployment. If you were using the Citrix virtual apps and desktops service then integration with WVD is possible.

With your existing setup it is possible to deploy workloads in Azure by creating a new hosting connection using Studio.  You would need to have the appropriate infrastructure in Azure for this to work correctly.

I am using Citrix virtual apps and desktops 7.15 CU4 and ready to upgrade 7 1912 once it released by Citrix.
I have an Azure Enterprise subscription.
Question: I don't want Azure AD or AAD. Therefore, On-prem authentication is required.
With On-Prem authentication and Azure WVD, the solution will work?
Do we have any such scenario from either Citrix or Microsoft?
If yes, please share any doc or article.

Hi,

Just to clarify, you would need to be using the Citrix cloud virtual apps and desktops service for integration with Windows virtual desktop as discussed here - https://www.citrix.com/blogs/2019/09/30/citrix-announces-day-1-support-for-microsoft-windows-virtual-desktop/.

In regards to WVD, it will work with Active Directory Domain Services (ADDS), this can either be over a VPN from Azure to a Domain Controller in your local site or you can extend your AD to Azure by deploying a Domain Controller in your subscription. Doing this wont provide integration to your on-premises Citrix deployment as per the original request.

Yes, we are looking for a solution to the latest LTSR with WVD.
1. With the O365 subscription, can I get any discounts on WVD?
2. Else, with WVD, can I get any befits on O365 pricing?
3. What are the extra benefits can I get with WVD? Already I am using Azure VM's as workloads.
4. I have Windows 7 VM's in my On-Prem. Can I export it to WVD?
5. I am using Citrix Cloud premium subscription. So am I need Premium Plus to use WVD?
