Trying to install Win 10 Home on one of the office Win 7 Pro computers.

Got an error message:
OxC19001  Ox30017
"The installation failed in the first boot phase with an error during the boot operation."

The computer was set back to its pre-Win 10 install staus.

Any insight to resolving this issue would be appreciated.

Could you download the windows 10 update assistant and run again?

The fastest option is download the ISO file (above step) and burn to USB disk (8GB), can use ISO2Disk software (free).
Use this disk to update or reinstall Windows 10

If you go from pro to home, you cannot join domains - don't you have a domain at work?
Anyway, this cannot be done as in-place upgrade that keeps applications and settings, so I suggest to do a clean install, booting from a usb stick.

Thanks to all responders.  All of the information is helpful.

McKnife's information

this cannot be done as in-place upgrade that keeps applications and settings,

is key though since I want to retain the apps on this machine.

I am returning the Win 10 home version and purchasing Win 10 Pro.  I realize I might end up right back in the situation trying to install Win 10 Pro.  If so I will refer to the links provided.
