Windows 10 PDF Print jobs

This has happened with multiple clients so I now it probably isnt something specific to a batch of users. A lot of Windows 10 users when printing PDF's will either 1. have the print job disappear or take a while to print or 2. jam up the printer and have to manually stop spooler and clear out the .spl files. This has happened with multiple types of printers (Ricoh and Sharp) and different types of machines. Is this a common thing when upgrading to Windows 10 and if so, what is the best way to resolve. Printers are deployed through a server in each instance.

there were some updates that caused printer trouble - but with the latest - these were fixed
so check that you have upgraded to the latest

Since about 2017, I have noticed that within adobe reader DC, when I press CTRL-P, I will have to wait for 3 seconds before I can actually print on my network printer (hosted on a print server). If I don't wait and press on print immediately, nothing happens, the print dialogue just disappears and nothing prints. This is exclusive to Adobe Reader, so I didn't worry much and just waited 3 seconds. It happens on multiple computers.
