Outlook 2016 won't open, keeps asking for Windows Security password
Windows 10 laptop.
I uninstalled Office 2010 and installed Office 2016 on a user's laptop and now when I open Outlook, it opens a window that says Windows Security and it has areas for domain\user and password but no matter what I put in, it won't get past it.
When I click cancel, I get the message: Cannot start Microsoft outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened.
I went into Settings - Accounts - Email and Accounts and added the users work account (O365) but it still won't work.
Any ideas? I reloaded Office 2016 again as well.

When you use outlook and a user selects to remember login information this data is stored in the credential manager, when you are installing a new version of office it is possible that you may need to clear out the data stored in the credential manager. To access the credential manager open the control panel then launch the credential manager. click on the windows credentials tab, then look through the list and delete all the outlook related entries. To do this click on the down arrow on the entry then select remove. Then have the user log off and on again. When they enter their credentials and select remember me on this computer a new entry in the credential manager will be created. If you are still having issues try following some of the steps in this article. https://www.lifewire.com/make-outlook-remember-password-1173797

Thanks everyone, I tried repairing and creating a new profile last night but kept getting errors. I was in a rush so I just deleted her profile off the laptop and recreated it and now everything works.
