Removing OneDrive from a Windows 10 notebook

I want all my files to be stored exclusively on my notebook's hard drive. Even after configuring OneDrive that way, and disconnecting my notebook from synchronization, every file I add to the desktop causes the OneDrive folder to reappear in my user profile. In Control Panel, Microsoft OneDrive does not appear under programs or features, so I don't see how to uninstall it. Please advise.

Thank you. However, that is the first step I took, and it hasn't stopped OneDrive from "Capturing" new files on my desktop. I want to remove it entirely from the computer, but it doesn't appear in the "Remove Programs" list in Control Panel.
