Reconfiguring Windows 10 Desktop folder to reside in the User Profile folder

I've uninstalled OneDrive from my Windows 10 notebook, because I want all files to be stored exclusively on my hard drive.  Now, when I try to add an item to the desktop, there is an error message that OneDrive is not available.  What settings must I reconfigure, so that the desktop is simply the Desktop folder in my User Profile?

If not mistaken, prior to uninstall, you have to unsync/untie the user folders from Onedrive.
