Hi guys
I am having a problem exporting from ms access  csv  data into Excel
bar code numbers ( 12 -15 digits,  some beginning  with 0) are converted to scientific formula

Is there a workaround this problem?
Thanks
Dory

There are a few ways to deal with this.  The data is actually in Excel and accurate.

One approach is just to apply a number format to that column after you import that has the number of characters you want, and adding leading zeros to the format.

Another would be to specify an import template for the CSV and specify the type for that column to be text rather than number / default.

Another approach I've seen is to write the column to the CSV like below rather than just the number.  This will display properly in the Excel file but does make it a formula rather than a value, but typically that doesn't hurt anything.

I tried the 3 methods you suggested but failed.....
Attached is a sample CVS file exported from MS access
Can you please send it back with the bar codes displayed correctly
Thanks
