Comparison between macbook pro and windows laptop

Hi,
Which windows laptop is good. I am looking for something around the range of microsoft surface or higher.
Main aim is to use for software development puposes etc.

How good is microsoft surface ?

Also please suggest should one go for macbook pro or a windows laptop in general.

Since you are open to two distinct options, it seems your development is not platform specific.
Any other criteria by which one can assess the considerations.
Monitor size,

One point, if you get a Mac, you could also get a virtualized Windows environment. If you get a Windows, you can get a Linux virtualized environment but not a Mac.

yes i think the development is not platform specific..its just that i was working on mac for past many years...and looking to buy a mew laptop...macbook pro cost is almost double that of good windows laptop...so considering windows laptop..
also any suggestiona for good windows laptop...
i saw that microsoft surface laptop 2 is touchscreen...i am not looking for a touchscreen laptop but it jus looks cool..
main ceiteria is processor around 2.5 ghz..
8 gb ram
good quality screen
i will be mainly using it for normal purposes +
do some java coding etc

but i havent explored any windows laptop apar from microsoft surface laptop 2..
online i see lot of options
asus, dell , lenovo..
but cant decide for sure what to go for

What software do you use?
The choice is commonly subjective.

If you chase the i7 processor, you'll overpay.
I5 4-6 cores with 16GB ram an ssd or nvme m.2 based storage..

Monitor dimension or will you project to large smart tv?

i use intellij idea mainly
i am looking for 13 inch only or 14 inch monitor...
i want it portable so large smart tv size i dont find of much use...
especially one looking for development

Most modern laptops where Mac or Windows or other.. Can project provided the two can work ..
I.e. A smart TV connected to the wifi network on which the laptop is connected, you might have the ability to project (connect to the smart T. I.e. Somethings like chromcast, Intel has its own... Windows 10 has a way to project via wifi Mac can through an iTunes like apple tvType .......
