Pull power cord + reinsert.

The LED status light should begin to go through changes showing various states.

Each specific router has their own state changes.

If the LED doesn't come on... likely the device is dead...

Also:  Disconnect AC adapter.  Take it to someone who has a voltmeter and ask them to check the voltage at the router plug end.  No voltage means router won't work; replace the adapter.

Try plugging the apple router into another electrical outlet to see if you get diagnostic leds that light up,  Or if it is plugged into a power bar/surge protector, try plugging it directly into the wall. Jiggle the part of the power adapter that plugs into the router itself, if it is loose then the ac plug on the router is damaged especially if you are sure it is plugged all the way into the unit. .
