Hi Guys,
My connection is FTTC VDSL2 and in arrives fisically from the wall with rj11 cable.
I want to set a VM PFsense for firewall and vpn purposes.
I figured that the fisical architecture is follow

|WALL|----RJ11 CABLE---->VDSL2 MODEM---->RJ45 CABLE---->FIREWALL

-VDSL2 Modem must be set on Bridging mode
-Firewall WAN port must be configure (PPPoE, username and password ecc..)

It's correct?

Thanks

Yes IF the VDSL modem was using PPPoA before.

I saw this video and no PPPoA configuration needed

Can you explain me why VDSL router must be configured in PPPoA?

Thanks!

PPPoA = PPPover ATM. ( the carrier for DSL).

If your modem doesn't do PPPoA then your ISP doesn't do PPP, so there is no PPP server to talk to. When you put the modem in bridge mode the local ethernet packets are forwarded across DSL and then land on the host ISP platform for authentication..
