User can not access Outlook since changing their AD password

We have a user who changed their AD password and now ever since the change, they can get into outlook. They tried their old password and the new one, but neither one outlook will except.
We tried to create a new profile, but it would not find his email account. They can get in though via OWA
Do we have to do a repair on outlook to resolve this and if so, how do I do that or do I need to do something else?

If the user can get to their account in OWA then it is NOT a password or account issue. This sounds like an outlook profile issue.

Go to control Panel --> (Small icons) Mail and create a new outlook profile. Setup the new profile and then set it to active.

Once that has been done report back and let me know if it connects.
