Office 365 activity reporting and Mailbox deletion

Hi Experts,

I have two questions I was hoping to get clarification on.  I have a hybrid coexistence to Office 365 with adconnect and exchange online.  I've migrated all of my mailboxes to exchange online.

1.  If I remove a license to an existing remote mailbox, what is the time this goes into the recycle bin and is un-recoverable?  Is it 30 days from the creation date of the account, or mailbox creation, or a flat time period?

2.  From the Office portal, in Reports > Usage > Active Users > Office 365 > Active Users - I'm exporting a list of users for the last 90 days in trying to determine no activity.  This gives me "Last Activity Dates" for:
Exchange Last Activity Date      
OneDrive Last Activity Date      
SharePoint Last Activity Date      
Skype For Business Last Activity Date      
Yammer Last Activity Date      
Teams Last Activity Date

My purpose is to remove the licenses that are not being used.  If I removed a license for an account with no activity in the past 90 days across these modalities, would this include just those applications, or word, excel, powerpoint, etc as well?

Does anyone know the algorithm used to measure exchange activity?  Is it just sent and receive metrics?

Thanks for the links Scott.  Would you happen to know how activity is defined for Exchange?  would this be for a sent or recieved email?

I suppose since I have a hybrid, I would want to run the disable-remotemaibox cmdlet to ensure my on prem pointer is clean as well.

That is 30 days from when you remove the user.

For file recovery when the licence is live, I think it is either 6 or 12 months that you can recover deleted files.

I don't know how that translates to recovering users.

I would probably want to make a call to ms support to verify.
