HDD test fail and getting The parameter is incorrect

Hi Expert,

I have an HP G4 laptop always hang on POST, I did a system diagnostics and find out the HDD test is failed. After taking out the HDD and read it using HDD reader I am getting "F:\ is not accessible "The parameter is incorrect" the drive always hangs when I click on it and it's not showing the size of the drive. Is this a faulty HDD or is there a way to retrieve the data? My side couldn't allow us to go out for data recovery. Appreciate if any expert advice me on.

Thanks!

Is this drive encrypted or anything?
If the drive is encrypted, you should always have backups.  You can't recover from a failed encrypted disk easily.  Even If it's not encrypted, you should still have backups.  If it's hanging and you can't get any sort of response, then you need to send it out to a drive recovery service.  Since you can't, you aren't going to be able to easily use software to recover data.

Some data recovery software comes free for you to check if it's possible to recover the data before you buy it.

If it does not show the size it's almost guaranteed to be faulty.

Hi Expert,

Thanks for the advice.

It's encrypted some more.
what drive model is this?
does it show correct in the BIOS ?
what shows the drive in disk management?  post a screenshot (snipping tool)
Hi Nobus,

It has many partitions and unable to access BIOS, once I left or right-click on the drive it will hang even with 3rd part software, from software can't detect.

Guess it's damaged

Thanks!
since you took out the disk - you can tell me the model
