Email Digital Certificates Making Messages Unreadable on iPhones

We've been using digital certificates for our emails to keep CEO fraud and phishing attempts to a minimum for some time without incident. Recently we started corresponding with a company and their employees can receive and read our signed emails fine from their computers but when upper management receives messages on their iPhones, the body of the message is converted to an attachment and is not easily read. They have to open the attachment. Messages that aren't digitally signed are readable everywhere.
I don't think the problem is on our side since everyone else we communicate with can read messages without issue. All I know about the new company is they use O365 for their mail server and most of their execs use iPhones.
Any suggestions on what I can tell them to look for/change to resolve this?

I really doubt they will change their habits just so they can open one marketing email, but you can ask them to try the Outlook app on the iPhones (in case they are using the default Mail app, or vice versa).
Are you using MIME certificates from Internal CA to sign messages?

If its internal certs, then I phones would get issue, you need to probably install CA root cert on I Phones

If its 3rd party CA certs, then outlook app should resolve the issue

Thank you for the response. Yes, we are using 3rd party certs from Comodo and IdentiTrust. I will reach out to see what mail app they are using but from what you are saying, am I correct that this appears to be a known problem with the native IOS mail client?
It depends on I Phone IOS version and root certificates it has
Try with MS outlook app and check
