Any secure way to share files between two home offices?

Right now we have a home accounting office and will be adding another home office.  We need a secure way to share files.  We cannot use Dropbox or Google Drive, etc.  Would like a Western Digital MyDrive work?  We are strictly just sharing files.  Files are not opened and edited by more than one person at a time.  Any help would be appreciated.....none of us are experts in IT by any means.  Thanks so much!

How many files?  How large?

I don't think WD MyDrive has any advantages over Dropbox or Google Drive, but I'm not aware of any disadvantages either so I guess it's an option.

Another option (though more clunky) would be to ZIP the files up with a password, then e-mail or transport (by thumbdrive or external hard drive) them to the destination.

Another option (which requires some technical savvy) would be to set up VPN capabilities between the various locales and either push the file(s) to the destination or retrieve them from a source.
Why can't you use *Drive? Concerns about data ownership?

If you are using any of these free offers, it is true that somewhere in the EULA, it says that you give the provider some rights on the files but all of them also offers PAID services for which the EULA is completely different.

If you are not IT savvy, I wouldn't go trying to build my own infrastructure. It is just to complicated to correctly and securely configure.

Thank you guys for your responses.  I didn't know that about the EULA for the paid for services.
You can also setup a vpn between locations and use regular file sharing mechanisms.
