Update to Win10 questions

Hello,
I need to upgrade 2 of my PCs to Win10 and just want to check in with you Experts before I start, to make sure I do it correctly. Both are custom builds and all of the hardware on both systems are compatible with Win10. Also, for both systems, I have 1 SSD dedicated to the OS and programs only, while storing data files on several internal HDDs.

My questions are:
Do I just wipe the SSD clean, install Win10 and then reinstall software, or is there a way to only uninstall Win7,  install Win10 and keep the current software installed?

For one of the systems, I'm also upgrading the SSD from 250gb to 500gb so I'm assuming that for that one, I'll just replace the old SSD with the new larger one, install Win10 and install my software.

Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you!
